Black Isle Words is run by a small group of enthusiastic volunteers. They're all keen writers themselves - so having an annual writers festival is a treat for them as well as you!
Kenny Taylor
Kenny Taylor is a Black-Isle-based writer, lecturer, broadcaster and musician. His work is inspired by diverse sources, including folklore, music, natural and local history and science.
He has written more than ten hardcover and softcover books, including ‘Natural Heartlands’, which was shortlisted for the international BP/Natural World Book Prize.
Kenny is a frequent contributor to BBC Wildlife magazine and has written two features to date for National Geographic.
He has had poetry and essays published in Northwords Now and Island, appeared in and presented many broadcasts and scripted 16 wildlife films.
Richard Robinson
Richard is treasurer to Black Isle Words and so keeps the whole venture on the straight and narrow...
Jane is continuing her career in helping to organise book festivals, both for Black Isle Words and as Secretary of the library based Ross and Cromarty Readers' Group.
Maggie Wallis
Maggie's daytime job is a speech and language therapist, and her literary endeavours are at present limited to writing poems on the train. She lives with a houseful of men, and a gardenful of chickens.
